Short Description Responsible for reliability, integrity, availability, procurement, engineering and modification work for Plant Instrumentation, control valves, on/off valves, field devices and control panels.
Detailed Description
Duties and Responsibilities:

§  Formulate a plan, review and analyze preventive maintenance strategy for the equipment instrumentation in order to achieve highest efficiency of the activities for reliable and safe operation.

§  Administer the relevant contract, its contractors and suppliers associated to the works as contract holder to ensure compliance to the procedures, policies and guidelines set to support the maintenance needs.

§  Provide technical advice during troubleshooting and corrective action of instrument breakdown or failures to find the root cause and best solution in order to restore the functionality back to normal.

§  Attend to technical query by operation personnel and provide advice/solution according to best engineering practise to address issues which affect the operation.

§  Monitor spare parts and inventory for critical instrumentation to ensure availability when required in order to minimize production interruption. Establish new inventory/cataloging where necessary. Update information in the inventory to ensure it is relevant for the current operation.

§  Provide technical inputs in full cycle of procurement processes for contract, materials and service requisition where required so that all technical requirements are addressed properly to protect company interest.

§  Identify, study, propose, and implement area for improvement (project) in the field of instrumentation engineering to enhance operation and improve total equipment reliability.

§  Forecast and prepare budget for instrument related activities i.e. maintenance, shutdown and project for consolidation into department yearly Work Program and Budget (WPB). Monitor budget utilization closely and provide justification for variance.

§  Support execution team in develop procedures and instruction for either maintenance, shutdown or project to ensure compliance to safety, specification, standard and procedures in order to achieve highest quality of the work.

§  Supervisor role Populate inputs into SAP System to ensure data and history of equipment maintenance activities are captured accurately. Provide inputs to maintenance planner with regards to instrument maintenance activities.

§  Supervise and groom Instrument Supervisor and Technician to develop their technical knowledge, skills and competencies in order to produce potential talent.

§  Closely associate with various monitoring and protection programmes while coordinating and assisting inspections, surveys & work assessments of facilities; compile field data & report anomalies to the management or concerned departments and arrange for required maintenance.

§  Analyse equipment threats and hazards and ensure implementation of standard operating procedures in order to maintain the integrity of all equipment and assure adherence to safety standards.

§  Initiate, review and evaluate technical proposals for Instrument procurement. This include procurement of devices, spare parts, technical services, repair kits to ensure operational effectiveness and preserve company assets.

 

Eligibility Criteria:

§  Bachelor degree in Electrical\Electronics\Instrument Engineering

 

Minimum Experience:

§  Maintenance experience of 5 years for Engineering degree holders in Polysilicon Plant, Chemical, Oil and Gas or Power Generation Plant.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

Technical

§  Strong knowledge of Field Instruments, Control Valves, Shutdown valves, Pressure Regulators, Pressure relieve devices Flow instrument, Pressure Instruments, Level Instruments, and Temperature Instruments.

§  Strong knowledge of Instrument hookups, consumables, and calibration equipment. Knowledge of ISO/DIN calibration and testing equipment, procedures, and documentation.

§  Strong Knowledge of Safety Instrumented System. Candidate should have good understanding of IEC-61511 standard and requirements of operational maintenance.

§  Familiar with international standard for instrumentation, control systems and final elements.

§  Good knowledge on company Standard Permit to Work (PTW) procedure & QA/QC system

§  Having Knowledge on SAP, Plant information management system, Plant Resource Management System
